Starlyst Baseball Stars
The pitcher throws the ball, releasing it to an unknown destiny, either hitting the catcher's mitt or itself hit by wood, floating or flying, a single or a double, an out or a homerun. This is the all-or-nothing nature of the game of baseball, and it's something that baseball stars learn to embrace long before they reach the major leagues. Often called a "game of numbers," baseball demands persistence from its players, the possibility of the slump looming large in even the all-stars' rearview mirrors. Overcoming the odds, though, the true stars of the game learn that if they keep stepping up to the plate and following through on their swing, the hits will come, and for that simplicity of gumption, we can only admire them.
